Processing Activities
As a data controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Danish Data Protection Act, we process personal data for the following purposes:
a. Website Visits
When you visit our website, we collect certain information through cookies to ensure the site functions properly and to analyze its use.
We may also collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, and session data (e.g., page response times and navigation paths). Our legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR (legitimate interest).
b. Communication with Potential Customers
If you contact us via email or contact forms, we process the personal data you provide (typically your name and email address) in order to respond to your inquiry.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest). We delete correspondence once it is clear whether or not you wish to use our services, unless we are legally required to retain it longer.
c. Customers
To deliver our services and manage your account, we process information such as name, address, email, payment details, and course participation records.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract). Once the service is delivered and any outstanding matters have been settled, personal data will be deleted unless retention is required by law.
d. Newsletter Subscribers
You can choose to subscribe to our newsletter to receive free language tips, updates about Danish language and culture, and news about our courses and services.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).
You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link in any email or by contacting us directly.
If you unsubscribe, we will stop sending you newsletters immediately. We retain proof of your prior consent for two years from the date of last use, in accordance with the Danish Consumer Ombudsman’s Spam Guidelines, section 11.3.
e. Payments and Bookkeeping
We store accounting records in accordance with the Danish Bookkeeping Act. This may include invoices and receipts containing personal data such as name, address, and service descriptions.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(c) GDPR (legal obligation). We retain this data for five years after the end of the current financial year.
Data Processors
We collaborate with trusted partners who help us deliver our services — for example, website hosting, payment processing, and marketing systems.
These partners may process personal data on our behalf. We only use partners who provide adequate data protection guarantees, and we have signed data processing agreements with all such processors to ensure GDPR compliance.
Disclosure and Transfers
We do not disclose your personal data to third parties unless required by law. As a general rule, data is stored within the EU/EEA. If data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, we ensure that appropriate safeguards (e.g., EU Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place.
Data Security
We take data security seriously and implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.
Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access: You can request access to the data we process about you.
- Right to rectification: You can have incorrect or incomplete data corrected.
- Right to erasure: You can request deletion of your data under certain circumstances.
- Right to restrict processing: You can request limited processing in specific situations.
- Right to object: You can object to processing based on legitimate interest or for direct marketing.
- Right to data portability: You can request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected].
Withdrawal of Consent
If our processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time by contacting us.
Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
